Al Gershwin IMO, Lineker's like/post was a genuine error (I didn't know about the rat symbolism either) - although he is prone to typing out of his league, on social media.

Punishment was appropriate and deserved, but I'd bet he'll find a similar role very quickly - he's a natural footballer & TV sports personality.
