I know that Trump said he will deport the illegals and also claimed (falsely) that they were all criminals.
But so much of the US economy is supported by undocumented labour especially in the farm belts who are all screeching even though they mostly voted for Trump. Their workers have abandoned them.
The weird part is the woman in the article whose husband wasn't a citizen. What on Earth did she think would happen?. There are heaps of similar stories from people who thought it wouldn't happen to them.
# Trump's daily deportations now match Biden's but still not Obama's. The MAGA Mob think that both Biden & Obama didn't do deportations. The complete lack of knowledge of what is happening in their country is bizarre.
Now the Ford motor co. is closing factories due to the problems with supply chains which is a direct result of Trump's tariffs which are all over the place. Same with Boeing.
That means 1000s of layoffs including probably the rest of the car workers who cheered on Trump at the White House as he displayed his Tariff Chart. 1200 got laid off the next day.
Bizarre that even car makers appeared ignorant to the fact up to 60% of components in US assembled cars including brands like Ford are imported.
The auto industry unions backed Trump just as the huge Teamsters Union did even though 1000s of truck drivers have been laid of.
Chaos.
## China has announced that every African country can now export all the goods they manufacture to China at no tariffs / import duties.
Since Trump started his Tariff War China's exports have actually increased by 8%. |

If Trump gave the impression during the election campaign that it would be criminals who would be deported(?), maybe law-abiding Latinos assumed they'd be safe.

"We need to give absolute priority to every violent offender and convicted criminal illegal alien present in our nation. Diverting limited resources to other objectives puts our national security at risk," the members wrote.
The letter echoed concerns raised by several Latino leaders that the administration's immigration crackdown should be focused on those with criminal records, rather than long-time undocumented residents. ... |

The dunning Kruger effect. Those who put themselves on pedestals are far more likely to be pushed off. I was hoodwinked for a while believing Trump might bring about world peace. Now starving people being shot dead in Gaza for fun, an unprovoked attack on a Sovereign state- Iran, Putin doubling down on Ukraine. Within 6 months the world is a veritable tinder box. But like in the UK the opposition was full of piss and wind. Harris- oh how she laughed, how she fist pumped. But there was very little substance behind the bravado. |

The woman who sang "vote Trump" at a rally is in tears after ICE (US Immigration) picked up her husband for deportation.
There are so many stories like this within the Latino community yet Trump made no secret of his plans.
The Latino community, especially Cubans can be very conservative. I find no joy in this happening. Don't want to see people hurt but I simply cannot fathom the thinking of these people. Did they not think it would happen to them?
