The criminologist Professor David Wilson, who's also a former prison governor, thinks Epstein committed suicide.
It's been a while since I watched it, but from what I recall, these were some of the points he made.
- A trove of documents relating to Ghislaine Maxwell's prosecution had recently been disclosed, which weren't favourable to Epstein
- He'd recently made a will
- He'd recently attempted suicide by the same method, reported by his then cellmate
- He got his cellmate out of the cell by claiming the cellmate had attacked him, then committed suicide before a new cellmate could be moved in
- Prison was badly run, so he wasn't sufficiently monitored
- The time missing from the CCTV video didn't leave enough time for him to be murdered by strangulation

So Maxwell has been moved to a far less harsh open prison which normally she wouldn't qualify for with her "sex offender" status.
I think Donald Trump may have succeeded in soothing the MAGA crowd who seem to just accept his often bizarre and contradictory claims such as the one Bill Clinton (and Hilary) "created " the alleged "Epstein Files" although he says they don't exist but if they do Clinton is in them dozens of times and it's all Barack Obama's fault who should be arrested and executed for treason.
Not sure how it will all play out for him with the more normal Republican voters.
Will Maxwell get a pardon?. Maybe it will not be needed as there is speculation the Trump friendly Supreme Court may vacate her conviction which apparently they can do.
A bit much Guifte's family speaking up when it was her father who delivered her to Mar a Lago and her brothers apparently stood by while she was allegedly trafficked by Epstein for a decade. Did they have any contact with her?
What a saga.

That seems spot on, hedda. Her brothers and their wives have been giving interviews (available on YouTube) and they're saying exactly that. I don't know how anyone, certainly not serious journalists, can believe that she advocated for other victims, as there seems to be absolutely no evidence for that. I can't remember her even mentioning other victims in any of her interviews and her charity website seems just to be a front. In one of the documentaries about Epstein on YouTube, there's an interview with an Epstein accuser called Courtney Wild, who says that she recruited between 50 and 70 other girls for him, and feels very guilty for doing so. Giuffre claimed that, when she went to Thailand, Epstein asked her to bring a girl back. If there was a pattern of girls recruiting other girls, it seems unlikely that Giuffre wouldn't have been involved in that too and would have only ever been asked to recruit one person.

The fact is Jo Guiffe is being perceived as an heroic victim who exposed Jeffrey Epstein and Maxwell and worked tirelessly for other victims.

More promotion of Virginia Giuffre by Newsnight, this time via an interview with her lawyer.
