JK2006 I'd never read Harris but loved the movie Conclave so finding he'd written these three novels decided to read them. I thought they were superb (much of the reading I was in Italy).
Robert Graves who wrote the Claudius books went to Charterhouse, my old school. These are just as good. Quite accurate, I gather, and a great way to learn history whilst having a great read.
