veritas I think this is the best film made on the subject and is close to a masterpiece. I've got it on DVD and although not necessarily Christian I like to watch it every 9 months or so as I like the message.

I loved that Gibson used the Aramaic language-it sounds quite wonderful when spoken.

It's extraordinarily brutal-but crucifixtion would have been wouldn't it-but those whipping scenes-I'm not sure anyone would have survived that !.

I reckon Gibson's a bettter director than actor.
JK2006 It is too strong; it made me cry; which is the point.
Mart I actually bought the dvd the other week but still have not opened it in case I find the film too strong.
JK2006 This is the Mel Gibson film and I think it is devastating - difficult, painful, agony to watch but incredibly impressive - so far superior to the wet BBC TV version that it is frightening.

Critics slaughtered it. I admired it hugely. Over to you.
