JK2006 I watched Part Two and enjoyed it but Eve drives me crazy (he was brilliant as Hughie Green so it's obviously just the acting style).
Mike Willis I would have to agree with you to a certain extent, Trevor Eve does irritate me in the show. However, he is hardly a very balanced character in the series.

Maybe Michael Kitchen can swap roles with him?

It is a very good series though.
JK2006 I quite enjoy the series but Trevor Eve is so awful in it - the exact opposite of Michael Kitchen who shows how much you can convey doing almost nothing, Trevor is a master class in how to milk an acting style by cutting off other actors' lines, shouting for no reason, muttering and mumbling, smiling at the wrong moments, frowning and sneering, snapping and snarling - it's as though he's directing the fucking thing.

Very annoying indeed.
