Solihull Exile All that garlic, sounds great, but may well limit your chances of French kissing;)
Mart The smoked garlic is absolutely wonderful, I boiled some cloves in with the asparagus and we ate them whole.
No substitute for that flavour at all.
A really outrageous food day actually.
We did a three course Italian meal for lunch as well, the raspberry trifle was to die for.
We passed up on the restuarant next door, as they display one of my reviews in the window, which is fun, but a bit of a pain when you want to be left alone.
JK2006 Love asparagus and love garlic.
Mart I just bought the first English Asparagus of the year,
from the Isle of Wight garlic farm.

I also bought a huge amount of their garlic as I intend to make the garlic soup featured in the Guardian today.(The New Vegetarian bit)

I normally despise that particular bit of the paper on a Saturday as the recipes seem a bit boring, but I don`t think I can resist a dish which boasts 24 cloves of garlic and a teaspoon of harrissa!
