Pete Clarke You said it mate!
In The Know Thanks to all for suggestions and help.
I still feel that its worth a try - the idea of mobile broadband (on full screen) appeals to me, and will give me the flexibility that wireless would not.
Sadsongsdaysing Blackberrys have excellent internet access - thats their whole point. Probably not suitable though for longterm browsing - but great on the hoof.
Mart Mines fine for internet access ITK.
I can read m/boards and e-mails no problem, and the keyboard. although small, is at least QWERTY.
Its very rare that I find there is no free(and completely legal) WiFi access available.
The bill on internet access has never gone over a penny a month, even though it`s technically on all the time.
The MP3 player on it, sadly does leave a lot to be desired though, but the thing resolves this problem by all the other features it has.
I think it`s great, it cost me
DJones "I was considering going wireless so as to be able to use the laptop in the garden"

I don't know (no pun intended) how big your garden is, but if it is possible to use your broadband connection for the laptop, you don't need mobile broadband. Just a wireless router.
