Clifford	Try bringing up a child with learning disabillities who is suffering every minute of every day. If you could do something to ease their pain you would. The term used as " Frankenstein " has been around for some time now and is totally inappropriate.

Solihull Exile	There must be enormous benefits from this....but there's no such thing as a free lunch. Be interesting to see the final price of the tab.
In The Know	The mad scientists will say, JK, that these embryos are only for experimentation and will be destroyed before they are 14 days old, but like you say - it's a slippery slope. Some embryos will be 50/50. When abortion was legalized there were (reasonably) strict safeguards (and it was only allowed if the women's health was in danger) - but the abortionists whittled away at these until you can now get an abortion by simply filling in a coupon on a cornflake packet. We are doomed !
JK2006	My head tells me this research is good; my heart says something very dangerous is going on. Even 000.001% of animal in a stem cell seems bizarre. Slippery slope? I do agree ITK that we will see the end of the human species before we reach our individual deaths.
