Mart My first pet was a guinea pig.
I even was allowed to take him all the way to the dreadful town in Sussex(which I had probably best not mention in case it offends the residents..), where I was at school.

For a whole year, he travelled back and forth with me on the train in his little hutch.
I finally got out of the wretched school, sat him on my lap at my mums and the little blighter jumped off and was never seen again!

I was heartbroken, but I do amazingly have photos of him.

All I can say is, get a dog people! (in fact get a rescue dog if you can)
They never leave your side as indeed mine does not. Guinea pigs are an unfaithful bunch of rodents, besides which, the lead really chafes them......
JK2006 My faithful pet from my 14th birthday onwards - pictures taken in the winter at Lukyns; some wonderful photos (I think by my brother J) unearthed from my Mum's collection.

For several years of my life he lived and slept by my side; a faithful dog if ever there was one.
