Al The theme tune is very catchy, but it does owe a bit to 'End of the line' by the Travelling Wilburys.
Mart Ahem......

There we go again. "Dennis`s theme tunes..!"

Any chance of an "out of house" worker in the Beeb?

JK2006 It's been one of my favourite shows ever since it started, I'm sure Jack will return next week, I agree about Armstrong (who was a great Squeers decades ago) and I too love Amanda who I admire hugely for not covering up her burn scars.

Very good actress, lovely lady.

I even like Dennis' theme tunes!
Mike Willis In my opinion, New Tricks is a really great show and James Bolam will probably return in the next episode, as it is very realistic that the character is devastated that the guy who run down his wife got off scott-free.

The last episode I thought was very good.

It is one of the few shows that I actually care about the characters and gives a fabulous incite into their backgrounds. Alun Armstrong's portayal of Brian Lane is superb, especially last Monday.

I must admit that I find Amanda Redman very attractive as well, I am 35 and I do prefer the older women.
Al You can't describe James Bolam's character as a slob as he is always well groomed and in suit and tie. I think it's great that the BBC make a series which puts older people in main roles and shows them in a positive light.

Is it possible that James Bolam doesn't want to return to the show? We often forget that these are actors who have other things going on in their lives.
