I'd confess that it was me who got caught having a Tommy Tank whilst wearing the wife's knickers. |

That is such a very good question.
It has made me think since I first read the idea/question, nice one ITK.
To be honest, with the scenario you display and the book that I am currently reading, ("The Face of Tomorrow", Thomas Bickford), I would just go, "get it over with".
Ok, I confess to not protesting enough to situations that I politically disagreed with from my country and apologise. |

The WMD crime was totally appalling and I think both Bush and Blair will suffer the karma consequences.
Incidentally...
US military deaths in Iraq war at 4,138
As of Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, at least 4,138 members of the U.S. military have died in the Iraq war since it began in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.

The other awful crime was the one in the 90s concerning Tutus and Hootsies in Africa. When I heard that death toll (about twice the 9/11 one) I felt physically sick.
On a par with the Nazis/Holocaust. Jews, Gypsies and GAYS. |
Locked Out |
I'd confess to taking the country into a disasterous war on a completely false and trumped up prospectus. That and blatantly lying to Parliament. Let's face it, someone should go on trial for this. And it's unlikely to be the real culprits. |
In The Know |
OK, here's the scenario -
You've been kidnapped from a foreigh country and your own government (who have a legal duty to protect you) are complicit.
You are flown to a secret location - where torture is widespread - and subject to months of isolation and abuse. The torture is so grave that some cannot be repeated (although the fact that your genitals have been attacked with razor blades is made known).
Your own government is aware of all this.
When you "confess" (to anything, apparently) you will be "put on trial" by a military tribunal in a foreign country. The hearing will be in secret - you cannot be told what evidence there is against you. You face the death penalty for a "crime" which you have "confessed" to.
Personally, I'd confess to the murders of Sir Thomas More, Abraham Licoln, taking part in the Great Train Robbery, Brinks Matt and anything else the "authorities" wanted cleared up !!! |
