BR Brilliant

Post of the Year !!
veritas my personal solution..give every American citizen a Government Bond to the value of each citizen's contribution to this bail-out ( about $3K )and then everyone has a stake in it !.
********************

meanwhile..an email arrives..possibly from Nigeria !:

Dear Mr veritas,

I need to ask you to support an urgent secret business relationship with a transfer of funds of great magnitude.

I am Ministry of the Treasury of the Republic of America. My country has had crisis that has caused the need for large transfer of funds of 800 billion USD. If you would assist me in this transfer, it would be most profitable to you.

I am working with Mr. Phil Gramm, lobbyist for UBS, who (God willing) will be my replacement as Ministry of the Treasury in January. As a former U.S. congressional leader and the architect of the Palin / McCain Financial Doctrine, you may know him as the leader of the American banking deregulation movement in the 1990s. As such, you can be assured that this transaction is 100% safe.

This is a matter of great urgency. We need a blank check. We need the funds as quickly as possible. We cannot directly transfer these funds in the names of our close friends because we are constantly under surveillance. My family lawyer advised me that I should look for a reliable and trustworthy person who will act as a next of kin so the funds can be transferred.

Please reply with all of your bank account, IRA and college fund account numbers and those of your children and grandchildren to wallstreetbailoutnostringsattached@treasury.gov
so that we may transfer your commission for this transaction. After I receive that information, I will respond with detailed information about safeguards that will be used to protect the funds.

Yours Faithfully,

Minister of Treasury Paulson
BR Our world is unfair. How Gordon Brown can use the word fair is beyond me.

We have caused the starvation in the third world by not helping them - and then we claim to be honourable countries and decent people.

At least with slavery and empire the people were fed - now we deny them even that.

Our moral responsibility has gone down the drain. These bailouts are obscene. The rich taking the poor's taxes to bolster their greed.

Gordon Brown is showing once more like with his 10p tax rate that he "Takes from the poor to give to the rich" and the fact he is so blatant about it and tells us that it is the right thing to do is what gets me so annoyed.

I would hope that our media will stop BROWN if he wants to give any more of our tax to bankers instead of the NHS or Schools or sports facilities for our kids or Third world food programmes.

I believe the Archbishop of York has attacked the bankers greed tonight on their home turf - good for him.
veritas personally-I think this bail-out shouldn't go ahead but only because I'd like to see the whole Milton Friedman fantasy that consumed Maggie Thatcher and Ronnie Reagan and has been in play for the last 30 years, reach it's conclusiom.

Let the stock market and Wall Street collapse. In the long run-we won't miss them !

I note the latest excuse being given for this shonky hand-out to a bunch of incompetant bannkers is that without investment, the Third World will suffer.

What a crock !.Imagine if the West handed used $800 billion to ease hunger in the Third World. The problem would be solved forever !.

It's been said by economists that the cost of the war in Iraq for one year would have solved hunger in Africa for all time !
BR This e mail is doing the rounds in AMERICA where the people are very angry about their tax money propping up the rich people of the World.

Makes very interesting reading ( it is about the AIG bailout. So you could x 10 it for the FED plan. its called THE WE DESERVE IT DIVIDENT ( New Labour could have done the same with the UK rather than bailing out the NORTHERN ROCK BANK and its cronies )
-----------------------------------------------------

""I'm against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG.
Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a We Deserve It Dividend.

To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000
bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+.

Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman
and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up..
So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals $425,000.00.
My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a

We Deserve It Dividend.
Of course, it would NOT be tax free.
So let's assume a tax rate of 30%.

Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes.
That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.
But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket.
A husband and wife has $595,000.00.

What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?
