JK2006 The horny and frustrated old drunks on the tabloids would have paid a year's paper round money to have screwed a 40 year old woman when they were 14.

Hypocrisy is the favourite British virtue.
BR In most of the EU as we know this women would not have even been charged.

Possibly the UK is being told we have to be brought into line with the general laws of the EU on consent.
JK2006 yet a man in his 30s got 7 years for sex with teens of 14 and 15 30 years ago who enjoyed it so much they came back for more again and again (the truth was - nothing was going on, so numerous returns made sense)...

British justice is so bizarre.

By the way, I'm not saying fully mature sexually experienced young men of 14 having consensual sex with older women is wrong (which seems to be the general media opinion) but that demonising, monstering and jailing a man for similar crimes from three decades ago is a waste of time, morality and money - even if it were true - and that it's time society grew up.
