robbiex Where did you get this photo? I used to love Richard O'Sullivan in Man about the House. I know he had a stroke a few years ago and feel very sad for him, he's only about 63 and should have many more yearsa before going into a retirement home.

Third person, with the cigarette in hand.

One of Britain's best loved comedy actors of the 70s and 80s.

I only realised after seeing the 'teacher.jpg' bit, it must be some reunion for Carry On Teacher!
JK2006 Yes - people speak very highly of this home for old entertainers... I may apply there myself when I am old but fear I may be rejected as not being entertaining.

I wonder, do they have a home for retired old vile perverts?

I suppose neighbours would burn it down.

Ah well, life is so complicated.
Foz Poor guy has suffered from ill health and depression in recent years but is having a better time of it being looked after at Brinsworth House - the actors retirement home. I think 'Fluff' Freeman and Charlie Drake spent their last days there.

I have seen The Young Ones movie, but didn't realise Richard O'Sullivan was in it. Oddly enough, if you'd said Carry On Teacher I would have seen the connection. Mostly I know him from Man About The House and Me and My Girl.

I was never a fan of The Young Ones TV show. Not my thing at all.

But his best show was reviving his character from Man About the House in the series "Robin's Nest". A great cast with Tony Britten, (great actor, and Fern's dad), Tessa Wyatt, (very easy on the eye. Previouisly married to the original king of the jungle, Tony Blackburn), and the most inspired character of the lot, David Kelly, (the one-armed washer-upper!)
