Soon got bored? I thought they dragged the story on far longer than necessary. I think the public got bored and so the story was no longer a money maker. |

I wonder if Matthews would have gained more sympathy and possibly got away with it had she been attractive, middle class... the McCanns spring to mind.
I do agreee with JK. She is A typical of many of her ilk. Men are often portrayed as revolting and monster like...and as Matthews and the mother of Baby P go to show...behind every abused child there is a woman.
The tabloids soon got bored with their 'search' for Maddie. Didn't they? I thought they really cared?  |

Yes BR but I reckon, in this case, even most police will be shocked by how easily they were conned and it may actually help strike down other convincing false accusers.
I know, in my case, many police working on the case hated what they were being forced to do. I've heard from enough of them, either in person or anonymously, to believe the majority despised the line from above.
It is so easy to persuade men and women to fine tune their memories, lower the ages, to make nothing into something, even just to say pleasure was unhappiness.
It seems like such a little line to cross, fact to blur. After all, who will know?

She is not evil - she is only doing what society and the Police encourage poor people to do - grab money from those with money with a "good story"
The public probably now can see how the False Allegation business works - it is formulated by a "group" of poor people who all expect to benefit from it - and who all try and back each other up. Once the compensation comes in KERCHING they are instantly up to |
