Agreed JK, with one caveat-too many sub-plots. The young detective being 3 weeks late , and callously dumped by the station lothario was unnecessary.
HB and JMcT were terrific. There will be more.

Hugh and Janet played the same characters in a previous crime drama on BBC called 'Five Days' (which I preferred to this one actually).

Do try and catch any episodes of Heston Blumenthal trying to revamp the Little Chef chain and prepare for a lot of cringing.
I know that Heston has a lot of fans on this board.

And a clever but simple trick at the end I didn't see coming.

Great rapport between Hugh Bonneville and Janet McTeer.
In fact, brilliant casting all round.
Well scripted, characters properly developed and a storyline that completely hooks you.
