Angel Cheap but not a very exciting chilli is it?
Food Post Fan Many thanks for all the food posts on this board, JK. I thought that this would be of interest to your readers.

Sainsburys are advertising very heavily on television saying that they can make meals for a fiver using their brands.
Let us take on their current offering.

500 gms of mince from the butcher...........£1.83

2 tablespoons of tomato puree...............£0.25

Water/salt and pepper ( I assume that we all have that)

1 chilli.....................................£0.20

Soaked and boiled kidney beans from the health food shop.........................................£0.20

200gms of basmati rice.......................£0.45

TOTAL.......................£3.13 serves 4.

(clove of garlic optional 10p)

No recycling at all required for this, although you may have a bag from the local butchers to dispose of and at some point will have thrown the rice packing away probably.

Thank you for letting me post.
Can anybody beat anymore advertised prices?
