veritas Interesting launch tonight in Sydney-an Aussie version of the Spectator to be edited by Oscar Humphries..son of Barry Humphries.

Andrew Neil gave a speech with his insights into the future of the media and the internet..(but Neil is often wrong)and a dig at Murdoch (naturally, as he fired him).

He predicted the demise of several British newspapers (without naming them) but the further strengthening of others-like The Guardian which apparently has the 3rd most newspaper read website in the world. He claimed printed newspapers with strong websites will be the winners.

Also described the Alfie tale as tabloid nonsense plumetting to the lowest depths and very damaging to newspapers in general.
JK2006 I think Wade, Murdoch and The Sun have broken the law by...

paying the children (or, worse, the parents) for this story

printing it

and worst of all

by inciting children to break the laws of the ages of consent for sex by making it obviously attractive to them in financial and celebrity ways.
BR At last Society has fought back and child protection has managed to get into gear......how did it take so long ? and should the SUN now be fined for carrying a story such as this in such a way ?
Emma Bee A very good decision.
JK2006 Buried away in a tiny news paragraph in the Times on p22 we discover that Mrs Justice Baron has ruled against any further reporting on the child parents.

Surely the beginning of the end for Wade?
