Rusty Not a surprise to me but then we had this debate, Giles, when the nominations came out. I'm thrilled for Sean. And so pleased that for once the Academy didn't get swung by all that come-back-kid-Hollywood-ending stuff.

Rourke was very much in the running and campaigned VERY hard. His is a great performance but my money was always on Sean Penn. Love it that he stuck it to the Prop 8 lobby too. Go Sean!
Angel Mickey Rourke was apparently never in the running. Had the execs got their way he never would have been in The Wrestler, had it not been for the director.
giles2008 Sean Penn gets Best Actor for "Milk". Well frizzle my hair and call me fuzzy. Probably the one genuine surprise in this years awards.
