I never read the book and agree about bloody Hollywood endings but I was pleasantly surprised by both Northern Lights and Lion Witch and Wardrobe - so they can sometimes get it right.
Harry Potter improved as it went on.
Either way, I loved I-Robot and am delighted I watched it.

most Hollywood films are stupid..but I'm a SFX fan !

I-Robot. Usual scenario. Read the fantastic book and watched Hollywood ruin it. They even changed the original ending to suit the American market. Stupid just stupid.

The Reader and Slumdog millionnaire were showered with Oscars and I enjoyed both of them very much. However "No Country for Old men" bored me to tears. Perhaps because I watched the latter on dvd and the first 2 at the cinema, thus I become easily distracted when watching films at home.
Also I enjoyed "The Island" very much and it was widely criticised (mainly for copying off Logan's Run).

you have taken your time.I Robot is great !
I agree. Will Smith is a highly watchable and likeable actor and from the interviews I've seen, a thoroughly nice chap with a lovely family.
Got to love Matt Damon as well. One of the least spoilt and smarter Hollywood stars.
And Daniel Craig..watch him work the fans. This is an actor who cannot believe his good fortune and is loving it.
Totally unpretentious.
