It's interesting to note that those who protested about the war in 2003 were told that in doing so they were failing to support the Army {or, more to the point, were failing to support the soldiers, which isn't quite the same thing when you think about it}. In doing so, it must certainly have been the intention to justify a military incursion of doubtful legality while making the war and the Army indivisible from each other. Now the protests are being made well into the campaigns these same people wish us to treat the individuals and the actions as completely seperate from one another. It seems disingenuous to say the least. The right to protest is a sacred one, enshrined by law and charter. When did that stop being the case? And if the people of Germany had failed to support their soldiers during the fall of Frnace in 1940 {and I'm being deliberately careful when choosing my instances here} would we not have applauded them? |

If this is true then it says once again our Political Leaders are hypocrites.

Did I really hear that David Davies MP wants a ban on peaceful protests against British troops. I can understand his emotions, but after all his talk of preserving our civil rights, freedoms of speech, etc. it's amazing that he now wants to ban views that he doesn't agree with. That basically contradicts everything that he said he stood for during his resignation and re-election.
