giles2008 Your lifetimes ration of democracy is ten crosses. Just dont run away with the pencil.

"We can sit back and relax
We can watch the others face attacks
We can wait and hope in vain
We can vote them in again"

From "Cant Forgive" by Fire Next Time. From a long forgotten album called North To South released by Polydor in 1988. The only video by them is currently unavailable on You Tube. Good pop rock wih a political edge. Like the Redskins but the tunes were better.

You can vote them in again if you like but whoever they are they will end up like the last lot. If the Tories are the answer it must have been a really stupid question.
Dominic Dee Problem with saying that we cannot vote a sitting government in for more than 8 years is you will limit the options for the voter, and probably put many MPs out of a job. No point in them standing if they cannot win, and if they can only be elected to opposition there is not much point in voting for them. That's an unworkable policy. A party could get 90% of the vote and not be permitted to office?

It would be undemocratic. The electorate should be able to keep a government in office if they choose too. Let's not take away yet another choice.
BR I can understand that we opened our borders BEFORE the other EURO states to the new Euro states - and we reaped some of the benefits of that with cheap labour. The problem in a recession is that there are not enough jobs for everyone. You cant organise jobs by race......so there is nothing that can be done on that front.

I believe the TORIES would bring in less threats to our civil liberties. They have vowed to get rid of ID Cards and much of the Big Brother legislation. That alone wins it for me.

I again agree with Emma. We need to get Labour out. For just that reason and that reason alone it is worth voting and voting Tory.

I think the problem is that we vote parties in for too long. Any longer than 8 years means their snouts go in the trough ( every party is like this - human nature ) so as an electorate we should give the party a max of 8 years.

Cameron's TORIES are not the same as the Major/Thatcher party. So we dont know yet how good or bad they would be. I say give them a chance because BROWN has proved he is a disaster as Prime Minister. He should go off and run the World Bank where he would be very happy. We will also need a balance when BLAIR becomes President of Europe......

what we need is a party that will support British Jobs for British workers and not outsource all our work or bring in cheap labour from abroad.

And what shall we do when hundreds of thousand British workers, who currently get work overseas get kicked out for taking foreign jobs??? You sound like a candidate for UKIP.
Innocent Accused The 'first past the post' voting system in the UK really does mean we only have 2 choices. Both of which haven't exactly had a good record of protecting civil liberties.
Until we get a proportional representation system here we'll just have a choice between 2 lots of empty policies.
They're both screwing our taxes for inflated expenses claims,so why should we trust them on their policies?
