veritas I wouldn't advocate not voting Tory..hell.. I may even for the first time in my life !

I'm just saying not to expect too much to change.

But a clean sweep of the present crew in charge couldn't be bad !
Denise It's quite an effective tactic. Disillusion the voters to a state of apathy where they either don't vote at all or the opposition vote is fragmented to such a degree that it ceases to be a threat. I believe it's called divide and conquer.

Get a few people to spread negativity, regarding the main opposition, via internet forums. Negativity spreads faster than positivity, especially in a recession. The hard core Labour voters will remain loyal, as per their programming, so Labour will undoubtedly have the larger share of vote, even if greatly reduced.

Result = up to 5 more years of Labour domination. Time enough to create thousands more laws, give more powers to police and other authorities, and systematically rid the nation of the limitations of democracy.
Emma Bee So, in case the Tories might not repeal any terror laws, we must keep a party which will definately intensify the terror laws. What great common sense (not).

I see only two way that Labour can remain in power after the next election. One is to abolish the election altogether. They can do this by denying the vote to prisoners and forcing the EU to take out an injunction preventing the election. The other way is to exploit and spread the view that nobody else will be any better. Marvelous spin which, even though people know it is spin, they fall for it anyway.

"Don't vote Tory because they might not do what you want them to do. We are a terrible government and we intend to make life even more oppressive and unberable in future, but nobody else will be any better so you might as well keep us."

Well, to put it bluntly. I'm not falling for that crap.
veritas sadly I think you are right and BR is over-confident that the Tories will repeal laws.

This is always the great fear when restrictive laws are introduced..what will a future government do once these laws have quietly sunk into everyday use.

Pinhole cameras all round I say ! (and don't forget..you may catch a papparazzi image of the latest Jade Goody incarnation and make some money )

Citizen journaism on the net can expose everything. But that will be the next battle..government control of the internet with the aid of private enterprise. If in doubt..reagrd this..plans are afoot in Australia for News Ltd to eventually give-away copies of it's daily newspapers as the net gains advertising revenue.
JK2006 Exactly Giles; the Tories are the party of Home Secretary Michael Howard who decided it would be a great idea to allow people to manufacture historical claims of imaginary abuse and win a fortune.

No faith in them at all.
