Emma Bee I used to enjoy Strike It Rich presented by Michael Barrymore, but I never found his stand up act very funny.
mikemacca Barrymore's shows always went the same way with him having to behave like a retarded teenager to get the laughs and upstage anyone.

This lady has an amazing voice.Good luck to her.
JK2006 There's an interesting take on BGT in today's Private Eye.
veritas I think you are being a tad too tough in her. When she says she hasn't been kissed I reckon she means in the passionate love making sense..and a peck from Michael Barrymore would most certainly not be that.

For sure she's not a great singer nor does her voice really have a lot of "soul" but she certainly can hit the notes. I just don't perceive much feeling in her singing..it's pedestrian...but I love the whole idea of her.

And you would find in any choir a number of singers similar if not better.

I reckon in a studio she will be able to produce very nice music and her first album will undoubtedly sell a million at the very least. But it will be a one hit wonder.

I could name a dozen entertainers whose singing voices arent as technically good as Susan Boyles..Kylie Minouge is one who is a complete studio creation but the whole package that comes with Kylie is incredibly pleasing.

We are living in a very strange era when it comes to celebrity and all the rules are being broken. We are also really seeing for the first time the awesome power of the internet. And I still maintain that government and private corporations like News Ltd will try and take control of it because of what is happening.

A film clip of two guys hugging a lion becomes an instant world wide phenomenon and next minute the guys are bashing out a thin re-write of a book they did 30 years ago (and it's as dull as dish water) and it rockets right up to a no. 2 USA best seller just because they were on Oprah.

A skinny model like a million other girls, gets snapped up by USA TV network and is rushed to appear on The View & Oprah and a host of other celebrity shows to talk about what she eats..talk about booooring. And let's not even go near the Jade Goody saga.

Susan Boyle is just an example of Simon Cowell at his very best in manipulating the audience. You have to hand it to the guy.

Ummm, no, I lost my sight reading about a ridiculously overrated Elaine Paige wannabe.
