Martin K The best song about flowers, is Nick Cave`s "Bring It On".
It`s an interesting one, as it does show contentment and well being, although, you can listen to it and find sarcasm and a dark underpinned hatred if you wish.
A song I hate about flowers is The Psychadelic Furs "Flowers".
And never ignore John Otways "Beware of the Flowers `Cos I`m sure their gonna Get You yeah!" A true class tune.
Scott Mckenzie of course, and that new (emi?) signing about the punks with flowers in their hair(?)
In 77/78, we had green hair, spiked with washing up liquid, but I do not recall sticking a flower in it!
andrew It's age I think JK. I don't like flowers but when I get to your age in another 50 years I would probably get into them.

I think Jk is going to write and sing about flowers and not do Elvis Costello covers.
Big End Getting old? Nah! It is the new rock n' roll and so many young people are getting into the garden. Reason? Because they can't be creative in their careers, but they can be in the garden. I used to hate it and now I love it. It's romantic, emotional, colourful and just absolutely lovely. Begonias are delightful.

And here's a good 'un; the most macho terminally hetrosexual men I know love flowers! How's that for an inversion of stereotypes?
Martin K ...I hate Countdown, but my 79 year old Dad loves it.
I met the writer of the theme tune, and I unfortunatly said, " it`s alright for you you`re famous!"
He was furious and exclaimed.." Don`t talk to me about fame! You can do anything you want to to do tomorrow!".
Errrm..a big oops.!
A good point though , and very relevent to JK`s career...re-invention.
In The Know It's partly a sign of contentment, and also a feeling of well-being.

It's also an awareness of plants' place in the great scheme of things (for they are living things too - and without plants the human race would have died out years ago).

Mind you .... when you start to watch Countdown as well, .............
