If you know who the person was you could have your solicitor look into getting a restraining order. If you were found not guilty then the man cannot prove his claim and so he is guilty of criminal libel, but I wouldn't bother going to the police. They might not have have the best attitude towards you, under the circumstances. |

Hi again all, You may or may not know that I was accused of having sex with a minor (not to be confused with miner) some years ago, after two trials I was found not guilty. Obviously the local press did their bit and identified me and where I lived while the case was ongoing which was "uncomfortable" to say the least.
I was found not guilty of some charges at the first trial and the judge threw some charges out but as the prosecution were relying on "specimen charges" the jury were not sure what was going on so they couldnt decide on these other charges so the prosecution decided to have another go at nailing me to the proverbial cross.
Second trial not guilty on everything as the girl tells the jury "my mum told me to say it"
This was some years ago now and I got so annoyed the other day when I heard someone had called me a paedo.
My first reaction was real anger and distress, I put "good news week" on full blast and thought about what I should do about it, I feel baseball bat but think the slimy scumbag isnt worth it, what if anything can I do legally ? by the way how did macca get on with the anonymity for accused of sex offences >?
