This isn't court bias, these are fair points been made.
Just because a woman is dressing provacatively doesn't mean that she deserves to be raped. She may be dressing up to be attractive to men, but a specific man not any old pervert.
Also women may not resist in a violent fashion because of fear of reprisals. This is a fair point as men are usually physically stronger.
These are all valid points, only 6.5% of rapes lead to convictions. This hardly sounds like the court is biased towards the victim. |

Locked Out |
The sad truth, I'm afraid, is that people don't enjoy reading about knife crime so they don't end up screaming about conviction rates. On the other hand they adore reading about rape cases {or indeed about any kind of sex crime}. Hence the need to be seen to be rigorous in the application of the law. If we don't have trial by media at least we have a justice system with many acknowledgements to prurience. |

Any decent defence lawyer should inform the jury of the other myths, quoting specific cases as evidence, then ask the judge to acknowledge the same. Unfortunately, from what I hear, there are not enough Rumpole style barristers around who are up to the task. |

Worrying article in the Times.The worried PC brigade wanting more convictions are going to force judges to side with the prosecution and instruct the jury about 'rape myths'.Unfortunately these are only the ones that favour the prosecution,not the defence.
We all know sexual crimes are some of the worst affected by wrongful convictions,this will make it worse.While knife criminals and thieves are getting away without prision they're trying their hardest to fill these profit making prisons with innocent people. |
