david I love Alan Bennett
veritas I reckon Alan Bennett is the greatest living British writer.

Some of his tales of ordinary mundane life are incredibly amusing. The man is a genius.
JK2006 What a delightful, magnificent short story this is, with a magic twist at the end.
It makes you adore the Queen and the Royal Family.

Alan is more than just a national treasure; he's one of our finest writers and greatest living Brits.
