The Cat I've never understood why anyone thinks it's wrong to admire beauty. Not all teenage girls are beautiful, but those that are will be admired by men even if the men don't admit it. There's nothing perverted in this. There was a time when grown men married thirteen year old girls in the UK. In the 1920s girls could marry at 12 in Wales. I do believe these ages are too young for the responsibilites which come with marriage, and kids should be able to enjoy being kids. Men age but they do not stop being men or give up their natural attractions. Girls should be flattered that men enjoy looking at them. It rarely leads to anything more.

Ulrika is a perfect example of how TV and fame can destroy someone. When she used to do the weather I found her very pleasant and I enjoyed watching her forecasts. Then someone in TV thought that she was capable of more, which she wasn't. Some idiot even gave her her own comedy sketch show. Surely one of TV's most embarrassing mistakes. She became a big name with nothing to offer other than her looks, and she's doing whatever she can to try keep looking good. But even the best looking people need dignity. Unfortunately for Ulrika, she sold hers several years ago. Once you sell your dignity, you can never get it back.

This once bubbly, atractive weather girl is now a shamed figure living off sex and scandal. Very sad.
veritas I'm all for plastic surgey but clearly Ulrika is suffering from 'Alfie Syndrome" (first discovered on King of Hits)sometimes called the Clifford Curse-the peculiar mental condition whereby those in the media bang on about pedophiles and yet promote and encourage such activity.

The condition is a lot more complex than that but that suffice's as a dictionary definition.

Do girls have perfect breasts at 16 ?..it's not something I've ever investigated but clearly Urilka has so I take her word on that.

Blackit She actually had a breast reduction.

Evolutionary psychologists tell us that the men of virtually all societies prize the same waist/hip measurement, something these days usually found most commonly in mid teens.

Before this century, females could be considered 'on the shelf' if they hadn't been married by 16.

Perhaps I'm a little older than you Robbie, but I can clearly remember frequent cultural references to 16 being the age most women would like return their bodies too and most men would like to fall in love with.

In fact it is enshrined in some of the most famous pop songs, such 'sweet 16', 'I saw her standing there (she was just 17, if you know what I mean') etc.
robbiex I think when Ulrika said that she now has the body of a 16 year old, it was an exageration and ill-thought out. Sixteen year olds aren't fully developed and usually flat-chested and by no means are considered at the peak of physical perfection, at least in countries where more voluptuous figures are prized.

I can't blame Ulrika for changing her looks to stay in work. We have already seen the likes of Arlene Phillips, Moira Stewart, and Selena Scott released when they hit a certain age, whereas male presenters seem to go on forever, there is no doubt that tv is both ageist and sexist.
Innocent Accused Lol Blackit, think you hit the silly nails on the silly heads of people like Ulrika.

Trouble with being a fairly talentless celebrity who got by on looks is pretty obvious....you have to keep those looks to stay in the limelight.

I'd be more worried of the longer term physical effects of the surgery. Is Ulrika going down the Jacko path? Perhaps she's planned that for extra publicity when the current looks go wrong?

Either way it's far too excessive a risk for fame.
