Topic History of: Orange ball of light

ReadyTeddy The night before last I saw a single ball of orange light travelling across the sky at what seemed the speed of a slowing passenger jet. It caught my eye due to the unusual colour and slight 'waver'. I continued to watch it then stop suddenly and then turn at a right angle and travel away from me. It faded from sight eventually.

What causes the orange light? Is it a piezoelectric effect from atmospheric pressure or earth stresses? If you could float up to see one close, what would it look like? Has anyone ever been up helecopter to see one close?

It has me interested for sure!
