DJones This fake video was stage in Düsseldorf by a crew from RTL, the german TV station (and former cash cow of) Bertelsmann.

The Mohns are worse than the Murdochs.
veritas oh alright:woohoo:

I and a William Hickey columnist were researching a book in New York and he wanted to post a few stories to justify his leave of absense..I love Mommie Dearest-it's the 'high camp' film of all time although it nearly wrecked Fay Dunaway's career as it was the first to poke a stick at a Hollywood legend.

We thought the scene with wire coat-hangers were Joan goes beserk in the middle of the night hysterical..as she beats the kids screaming "no wire coat hangers"

After 6 drinks we had concocted the tale and he phoned it in to the Daily Express which reported the following day..groups of people were turning up at suburban cinemas in the USA clutching wire coat hangers waiting for the legendary scene and waving then during the scene ( a bit like Dame Edna and those gladiolli)

It was picked up by the press agencies and swept around the world..as 3 days later we sat in amazement reading the New York Post over breakfast..it was front page news and being repeated in TV news reports.

And then it began to happen..there were 'wire coat hanger' parties were cinema goers began to attend cinemas doing what we concocted over 6 G&Ts !

(thankfully his editor was delighted and paid all his expenses claims !)
david oh do tell
veritas didn't even think of that!..of course coroner's vans are never marked for obvious reasons. You would think the media would know but why let truth get in the way of a good tale !

again..one day I'll relate the tale of how a Daily Express journalist and I invented a completely bogus tale about the film Mommie Dearest after seeing in a Times Square cinema..had a few drinks in bar after, concocted a story and it hit front pages around the world..pure nonsense !!
giles2008 Only in the movies and episodes of Colombo, Cannon and Kojak!!! And maybe S.W.A.T. but nobody remembers tht one!!
