The medical centre where I work has signs up concerning violence, both physical and verbal. I suspect it's another term we've imported from the USA ! |

Don't get bogged down in the semantics of it all. There is verbal violence and physical violence, this was verbally violent. |

Violent means 'involving great physical force' and that was not the case here where verbal abuse followed raquet abuse. Though unacceptable, the former is very common and a feature of every sport - usually when the pressure mounts. |
