Locked Out "gets away with sex assault" - yes he has got away with being accused of something."

See? You're still at it. You didn't title the thread "NEW LABOUR Councillor gets away with being accused of sex assault" {which is hardly surprising, it's a bloody awful title}. You made plain your belief that he was actually guilty and had got away with the assault, something you have made pathetic attempts to deny. Can't you see that for yourself?
And you wonder why so few people take you seriously?

And please answer the question about how "the Government" covered up the case of the BBC producer. I've now asked you several times.
BR "gets away with sex assault" - yes he has got away with being accused of something. Many other people get taken to court with no evidence. I think you will find that in JK's case they did not even have a date for any offence ?

He should be treated like everyone else - It is true that if you are in a position of trust or power that the Public Interest is possibly served by the case going to court. If this were a Tory then it would have gone to court dont you think ?

As regards the BBC producer I agree with you - but again we do seem to have a two tier system in the UK.

I dont want to see ANYONE on the News when they have been accused of things - it should be left to a Judge and Jury to decide with the evidence. I dont want to see peoples' careers damaged on rumour and inuendo and false allegation.

BUT at the moment that is happening to many people - and sometimes it is useful to see which people it does not happen to - and then try and see why ?

I dont want to hang out to dry people just because they follow New Labour or work for the BBC. I want them to be treated the same as pop stars and teachers and priests.
Locked Out And while we're about it { I must have been half asleep not to have noticed this up until now}...

Here's a classic piece of BR contradiction. Compare and contrast these words:

"I am not judging whether he is innocent or guilty"

with this thread title:

"NEW LABOUR Councillor gets away with sex assault"

Spot the inconsistency, anyone?
Any apparent contradiction, I'd suggest, is explained by the first quote not actually being true. The thread title says it all. It's now an established fact that, in the view of at least one poster to this board, the tenet of "innocent until proven guilty" isn't necessarily something we should apply to everyone.
Locked Out But he's been arrested, BR. Sure, there's been little to nothing in the way of news coverage. What do you want?
This isn't evidence of a cover up. It's evidence that the BBC {that's the BBC... not the Government}} have decided to remain tight lipped. The more they shout, the more they probably lose a first class producer even before he's been properly investigated. Would you like the guy to lose his job because it's now "obvious" that "he's a pedo". That's my issue with you {as it was in the previous thread which you refused to reply to}. You claimed not that the BBC where covering up this case. You claimed the Governement were. Here are your words again.

"New Labour are quick to pull the trigger against GLITTER but when it comes to "their own cabinet - and the Top Producer at the BBC" they suddenly rush into the dark shadows and no info is forthcoming......."

You didn't say what you claim you are saying. As usual.
BR The BBC producer is a major person. Paid more than most people - let into our living rooms daily with some of the biggest hit programmes. Has also been on TV himself often.

Yet - his alleged crimes have been covered up by the media ( particularly the BBC who did not mention it on any news bulletin ) whereas if it had been a pop star or a Tory councillor it would have been headline news.

This is terrible double standards Locked Out - surely you can see that ?

I am not judging whether he is innocent or guilty - we are all aware that even Parents who take a photo of their children at bathtime can get into trouble with the "Authorities" - but surely it deserved coverage.
