robbiex I don't think Chris Evans would work on the chat show. He recently tried to revitalise tfi friday on a sunday and it failed miserably. He is best on radio and now much safer than in his radio 1 days.
BR Chris Evans - yes he is a truly brilliant talent as well.

Just cant see them giving him the show AND the Wogan show. Sort of means putting all your eggs in one basket again......

5 million for any TV show at 10p.m is a truly stunning audience - especially week after week. There are so many channels on TV now. He is worth
Dex I watch the JR show most Fridays because I like chat shows - not because of JR. I think his show has become about him. Whenever a guest is very funny, JR seems to fake amusement as he likes to be the star. The format has become old hat and predictable and a change will be good.

I can think of several suitable people to take over - my favourite being Chris Evans. Seeing him on tv lately showed what a tv natural he is and he would be a wonderful chat host.

I hope that Graham Norton does not take over as he has done the same type of show for years and I find him unpleasantly boring.

I realise these are just my views - any other suggestions?
veritas a good article and I agree JR has matured to being a terrific host and interviewer. If he is going to the US they would snap him up..still prefer Letterman but Ross is the only one who would give him a run for his money.

Leno is hopeless.

Can't agree though that it's a disaster for the BBC. They'll survive.
The Cat I don't have particularly strong feelings about Ross either way, but if you look at the size of the UK population (approx 60 million) and then subtract the number of people who watch his shows (approx. 5 million) you couldn't really say that the majority are his fans.

60 - 5 = 55

You did say do the maths.
