robbiex I think there is always the option to get searched instead of been scanned if you don't want to be,therefore the civil liberties argument doesn't hold water.

However, even if this method does completely stop terrorists blowing up planes, then they will just move to another area, such as trains, sports stadiums, shopping centres, underground. It would not be feasible to search everyone that used the ;underground.
Francis D Technology can never be a good substitute for vigilance and common sense. Nor can oppressive new laws which diminish the freedoms of the general population.
In The Know This may be a step too far for the law -
Blackit Sometime, sooner or later, we HAVE to take a stand against the erosion of liberty before it's too late.

Maybe this is it.

I've read that airports will soon be implementing cameras that can recognise emotional states - such as fear or anxiety.

Brain scans have already been developed that can literally read a person's thoughts. How long before these become as common as CCTV's?

As far as these body scanners are concerned - they clearly break european legislation regarding both child porn AND sexual voyeurism. So all Al Quaida has to do is to recruit more female and under 18 suicide bombers.
In The Know Personally I have no problem with everyone seeing my concealed weapon (lol) !!!!!!!!!!

I take your point however ... and this is not the end of the "new invasion". If police / New Lie-Bour win their battle over DNA retention we'll have police in maternity wards taking DNA from the umbilical cord of new born babies (to keep their database updated) next !
