This man will be called names by the New Labour Stalinists - but what he is saying is true. Kids come out of State Schools with the weakest GCSEs - where only A*s are comparable of a C Grade from the 1980s - and in silly subjects which are "niche" at best. Often unable to read or spell or even construct an argument.

Hopefully the next Government will sort out education and make LEARNING the real issue - not targets - tests and dumbing down.
