Regarding Gordon Brown's claim that troops were properly equipped and supplied for a certain key mission in Iraq was described by an ex army commander on Radio 4 as a narrow truth. The fact that they were properly supplied was because equipment and personnel were shuffled from other units in different areas meaning that those others went short. So Brown was correct but he only gave a small part of the overall picture. It's similar to all of Brown's management, borrowing off Peter to pay Paul and giving an appearance that everything is fine while the floor foundations rot beneath us.
That is if we believe the ex army commander.
