Prunella Minge Different, but I wouldn't say 'very very' different. Some of Brooker's interjections, timings, even intonations, echo VLS quite blatantly. What he has done, as you suggest, is make far shrewder judgements as to which risks to run, and channeled the invective in a much more disciplined direction.
steveimp I like VLS and Brooker, but they are very, very different.

VLS is incredibly savage to his targets, Brooker less so to a degree, and will also praise to the stars if he is discussing something he likes - the latter is not VLS's style.

I doubt anything like TV Offal would get a chance on our sanitised TV schedules these days, sadly.
Prunella Minge I wonder what Victor Lewis-Smith thinks of Brooker. He's ripped off VLS very cleverly whilst injecting some of his own admirable insights. The show is one of the best things on TV these days.
Locked Out I have to admit that Newswipe had, up until a couple of weeks ago, slipped completely under my radar. I'm now hooked. And Doug Stanhope deserves his own series.
JK2006 beating X Factor and other populist crap that got dull and staid after starting brilliantly years ago.

Well done Brooker.
