ReadyTeddy No, don't worry - he's not really but I was chucking out some old videos yesterday and I found a whole special on the lead up to the 1997 general election. It had Blair and Brown sitting next to each other at a conference with Tony spouting about what the future held under Labour. Looking at it now, and knowing what those two were going to do to the country in the next 12 years made me feel a bit bad and I have put the tape in the bin.

Watching that tape made it clear to me that however slick and confident the candidate seems at the time, the reality is that they are more than likely just mostly lying.

Did you believe Tony or did you have doubts in 1997? I thought he was going to be really good but those positive thoughts did not last long.
