Prunella Minge It shows once again that this is not, in general, a sophisticated electorate. I guess that's why the least popular main party, after a miserable set of results, now thinks it can get away with deciding how the country should be run. There should just be another election - hopefully that will shrink the turnout, get rid of the dimmest characters who thought it was all 'exciting,' and deliver a more considered result.
The Fat Controller I voted at 9am. At least voting late is better than never. The conservatives are still talking as if they've won the election. 40 odd seats to declare. Brown could still end up with another five years.
JC It used to be that the polls opened from 9am to 9pm, so we now have more time to vote than before. It was not even the highest turnout of recent elections and so I'm surprised that so many people left it until the last minute. However, fault does lay at the feet of those returning officers who ran out of voting forms. They each know how people are entitled to vote in their region.
giles2008 They are all used to 24 hour opening but didnt realise it didnt apply to polling stations. And didnt Joan Collins look like Michael Jackson? Creepy!!
JK2006 "Might be busy later", I thought, so voted at 8am.Almost at 7am but breakfast lasted longer. Would you not have expected this?
DOH, the public seethes with hatred.

Love the Torys - "public have rejected Labour" - when only 3 seats had declared, all won by... Labour.
