Prunella Minge He never seemed right for ITV anyway. But, then again, who does seem right for ITV these days? Their football anchors have to pretend that every match, even the dullest 0:0, is fascinating, and have to shut up anyone threatening to say something vaguely interesting at half time in order to cue up the next phone-in competition to win a year's worth of lager, a vibrating La-Z-Boy recliner or a brand new Subaru Outback. It strikes me that with the sleepily saturnine Chiles they have their squarest peg yet to stick in to their round hole, er, so to speak.
Emma Bee Steve Rider has quit ITV after the company handed the World Cup job to Adrian Chiles.
