It depends how and to what extent they seek to privatise Royal mail. From the vague remarks so far it sounds as if they might be aiming for part public ownership and part John Lewis-style employee trust, which wouldn't necessarily be a negative step. |

The only thing I disagree with is privatising the Royal Mail. I think it works well as it is, plus the thing that protected our snail mail from government and police interception was the fact that it was "Royal" mail. Once privatised it will be just another business. If another government is elected which abuses power like New Labour did then they'll have easy access ("in the interests of national security").
Apart from that everything seems to be going fine. |

...excellent! Already beginning to completely overhaul the justice system with some excellent reforms...Vince Cable's move to privatise Royal Mail (about time), Clegg demanding councils stop using surveillance technology to criminalise law abiding citizens...
I'm pleasantly surprised thus far. Very pleasantly surprised. |
