Good post Blackit, enough on Israel now ITK; let's declare this thread closed. |

Why should this tiny, insignificant nation - born out of violence - which has an area smaller than either Wales or Lesthoto, and a smaller population than either Burundo or Benin - be allowed to harass, and terrorize its neighbours, destabilize the entire region and threaten the world, while simulaneously putting two fingers up to any law that doesn't suit them ?
Well, let's start from the beginning.
Only a couple of generations ago, we turned a million of their kiddies into candles.(in order to protect our 'arayan' kiddies)..after 2,500 years of persecuting them.
That's basically why we have a mess in the middle-east.
Now I'm not saying that Israel should be allowed to evoke memories of the holocaust to excuse its behaviour indefinately. But that is the reason why Israel is there in the first place. Israel has been invaded 3 times by its neighbours with the intent of wiping it from the map. And I would suspect, this is why Israel possesses atomic bombs.
As far as Jews being kicked out everywhere they have lived - they were the only people in antiquity to believe in a monotheistic God, and the only to refuse to worship their Roman 'God' emperors. So that would cause a little friction. Then, of course, Christian Europe held them responsible for killing Jesus and for not accepting him as the messiah. This was a time when women were burnt as witches for not sinking when thrown into rivers. Look at the way we treat 'outsiders' today, in our 'civilised' world. It's hardly surprising a people who obstinately refused to shed their own identity, as well as becoming wealthier through tax lending (one of the few occupations allowed to them), would arouse hostility every time a bubonic plague decimated the population and a scapegoat had to be found.
Also, politically incorrect it might be to say, and a form of racism in itself, Jewish people are, on the whole, clearly more intelligent than the average population in Europe and the USA and this has enabled them to dominate both intelligentsia and the financial world in the West for the last 150 years. So they are hated by the left for the excesses of capitalism (even though most of the socialist thinkers were jews) and they are blamed by the right for both marxism and post-modernism (even though many of the great conservative thinkers of the last century were jews). |

So less of this lazy talk about 'the jews' please.
Exactly what I was saying ! (LOL)
They will do ANYTHING to silence any criticism against them (while they go and post disgusting videos like the one they did to laugh at the peace protestors that they had just murdered).
Ben Gurion - when actually announcing "Israel" called it "the jewish state" (see Truman Library records).
David -
When you die (as you surely will one day) and you have to face your God ... what will you say when he asks "What did you do"?
Will you say "I stayed silent - for fear of someone calling me anti-semitic" ?
Will you say "I looked the other way and said nothing" ?
Doing nothing ... and saying nothing makes you equally complicit in my book. |

good post veritas.
I know that Israel is a state founded for Jewish people, but referring to Israel as 'the Jews' as ITK does is both lazy and bordering on racist.
There are so many Jewish people who either do not agree with the existence of Israel or who do but disagree with the policies of Israel with regard to Palestine.
One acquaintance of mine is an Orthodox Jew but he is appalled at Israel's behaviour to Palestine.
So less of this lazy talk about 'the jews' please. |

that really should be the Zionist Israelis who do not speak for all Jews despite them implying they do.
Veritas,
I've been doing a little more research, and it appears that President Truman (when announcing recognition of Israel in 1948) actually refered to it as "the jewish state" (this was crossed out and State of Israel later written in pencil).

PS - Do you know how long it took the USA to decide whether to recognise Israel?
11 minutes ! (They obviously gave that alot of thought - not ! Or were they part of the plan from the beginning?) |
