It would be nice if they won - they are on a roll anyway - and it will take their minds of the economic catastrophe (cut wages / pay freezes / price rise etc) that are happening there and will be here soon (thank you Lie-Bour !)

Well it was dreadful; Germany displaying none of the fire and imagination of past games; Spain were far better throughout and it would have been terribly unfair if they had lost. As it was - a terrific header and well deserved win. I shall still root for Holland but Spain should win easily.

My personal hope is this could be the best game of the entire contest so I'm closing down and watching it!

But, when they played England the score should have been level at half-time.
And, anyone who know the game will tell you that the team that comes from 2-0 down to level things up is more likely to go on and win the game. I'm sure this theory is also backed up by hard statistics.
I'm starting to think you have lost the plot ! So what? They would have had to meet a decent team eventually - or did you think their slack displays (without scoring ! LOL) would get them to the final ?
I've said it before ... to win in football you have to score goals - and that is something England could not do (as they put all their hopes on the little fat bald one). Remind me - just how many goals did he actually score ? Was it 0 ?
The 2 biggest scoring teams just happen to be (surprise ! surprise !) - Germany (with 13) and Netherlands (with 12).
