SJB Why is it a guilty pleasure, JK?

I'm all for recognising the merits of original and less well known versions of films etc before Hollywood/The West/People Devoid Of Good Ideas Of Their Own get hold of them.
veritas I'm finding this on so many re-makes of films.

I just watched the Spanish made Open Your Eyes (with Penelope Cruz) and it is superb and so much better than Tom Cruise's US re-make Vanilla Sky (also with Cruz).
JK2006 and quite a few others I discover; it is terrific; far better than the Ken Branagh version.
