Prunella Minge	I understand the legal aspect. The cultural aspect just seems confused. Like Linda McCartney veggie sausages and bacon.
veritas	The demonstrations in Spain against the Pope with gays protesting. I always wondered why gays or lesbians wanted to join such an old fashioned thing like marriage. A few weeks ago I ran into an old friend from Scotland who is 70. He emigrated and worked as a hotel porter most of his life and lived for 45 years with the same man who was right at the top of a TV network in Oz. Now the partner at 76 has altheimers and his brother is putting him into a nursing home. The man's family informed my friend they expected him to move out of the house he has lived in for 45 years with his partner. There will probably be a soul destroying court case but this situation would never arise if they were a heterosexual couple !
