Not so, veritas !

Are you not aware that 20% of shops in the High Street are standing empty (and in some areas its far worse).

Once you get a few empty shops the area goes down and even further shops close.

The idea that some philanthropist will come along and "invest" in derelict areas for the good of the community is simple a non-starter.

well really you are proving my point. The market is only so big and it's over catered for especially in clothing.

I agree that empty shops begin a down slide and I also am fiercly anti-Westfield, the giant shopping malls owned by Aust. richest man Frank Lowy.

These Westfield's have been decimating small US town centres by placing themselves out of town and drawing all the custom.

But I predict a revival for High Streets and Town Centres as people tire of the sameness of these shopping malls.

Veritas the Seer predicts customer service will be the coming thing..small shops with good products and personal service !!

Yes you are correct...of course a person will take advantage of legal tax avoidance which is why you need tough pollies to make the buggers pay their fair share !!..no more and no less !

No corporation that profits out of the ordinary working taxpayer should be allowed to HQ anywhere else.

Kraft are currently planning to relocate their HQ to Switzerland - are you joining the boycott of all their products ?

Everyone - including you and me - will organise their affairs (legally) to their own best advantage.

You can hardly blame Corporations that do the same - they are businesses not charities (and many pension funds rely on them making profits).

JK2006 Some of us simply assumed by SHOW you meant SHOP... a one letter typo. Besides they are indeed both loathsome.
veritas the infallible of course none of you picked up my carefully planted hoax whereby I (deliberately) confused Alan Sugar with Phillip Green.

please take notes as there will be an exam later.

Sugar is the miserable sod and Green the tax avoider.
