Chris Retro OH Dear, I seem to have upset some real morons!

www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.p...osted=1#post47414197

Question: Do you think the skewed logic idiots calling me names here are doing so because they are part of the meeja? Brain washed or brain washers?
Chris Retro The unofficial BBC ban obviously doesn't extend to Local Radio - here is Graham Bannerman earlier today playing the FULL Top 20 of this week in 1974, including the "most evil man in the history of time" sitting at #3! (though it strangely ended quite abruptly, wonder if some bell-end at the station pulled the plug?)

Gary Glitter may be airbrushed out of history by the PC Witchfinders of the 21st Century but his music will always remain and in a few years time he will have a revival. The last time I looked an artist being played on the radio did not need a CRB check in order to get airplay which seems to be the attitude of the BBC and their "agenda" in 2010.......

Don't blame the bbc, Glitter won't be shown on itv, channel 4, five, sky, mtv or any other major channel or national newspaper. There is no law against showing glitter or other sex offenders on an old edition of totp, but from the perspective of the programme producers, would you really wan't to show an artist who just reminds people of child abuse. JK was shown on the xmas repeat of totp from 85, however jk was much lower profile than glitter (sorry jk). GG's music was never more than cod rock anyhow and even without the conviction would only ever be shown for reasons of nostalgia, because he didn't really stand the test of time.

odd isn't it ?.

Although GG is indeed airbrushed out of history because of photographs (and yes...any conviction in Asia stinks to high heaven especially Vietnam and a handful of countries that are as corrupt as sin)....but how ironic that a man like Tony Blair who began an illegal war in which tens of thousands of children have either been killed, maimed or had their families destroyed is lauded.

That goes for all the politicians who voted for mass killing in Afghanistan and Iraq as well.

vile people.

Actually Robbie at the time of his first arrest the very music you knock had indeed made a big comeback.Just look at how big his tours were to confirm this.
Glitter was indeed guilty of the pics, fairly sure of that, however his Vietnam conviction can never be reliable as it's a one party state with a notorious corrupt judiciary.
He is however guilty of stupidity concerning his asian trips,of that there is no doubt.

The JK situation is very different, the real action being at the european court.Whatever happens however most of the meejah will be too embarrassed to mention him,as they slung far too much mud,and will be vulnerable to be sued as a result.

Actually I wasn't criticising his music, he wrote and sang on a few good pop songs, I was just pointing out that like his peers (Alvin Stardust, David Essex, Susie Quatro etc), chart success was very much a thing of the past. I remember his christmas tours were very successfull, not exactly competing with Take That, but still would easily fill venues like Portsmouth Guildhall etc. I realise that the Vietnam conviction is dubious, and was probably more likely some form of child prostitution than forced abuse, however it is still wrong.
