veritas odd though isn't it Janine..

the times I've worked on News Corp titles editors have wanted verification of just about every snippet but Coulson is of course innocent of any knowledge of the hacking even though it suggest he is the all time most vacant editor in Fleet Street history.

Especially as I recall even having to justify claims for bus fares and the smallest of expenses and when extra costs may be involved-always had to approach the editor -that being part of his job to OK said expenses...but perhaps during his time at NoTW costs and expenses were deliberately withheld from him.

But then why was such a clueless journalist employed by the Prime Minister ?
veritas correct..he says he "wasn't aware" even though he was the boss and 'presided' over the newspaper at the time although from the times I've worked on News Corp titles wherever editor has wanted to know what you were having for lunch , Coulson must have been the most incurious editor in Fleet Street history.

Which begs the question-why the hell was such an utterley incompetant editor hired to advise the Prime Minister ?
Janine Coulson says he was not aware of the hacking and it has not been proven that he was.

No mistake.

veritas shurley shome mishtake Janine.

Coulson was editor of the NoTW at the time the hacks on his newspaper were illegaly hacking and that was why he resigned.

I believe he "took full responsibilty" to use his words.

Coulson presides over illegal hacking

The real difference is that this has not been proven - and is denied.
